I Am AWESOME!! Survey :: Kellie Ungricht

Your name and age:
Kellie Sue Ungricht

Your parents names:
Jan Clark and Larry Clark

If you have children, how many?
Boston is almost 7. Stella is 5. Fisher is 1.

If you’re married, what is your spouses name and how did you meet?
I met bubba a couple of times in high school then one day when I was in collage I was up at brighton ski resort and my friend who was a liftie said “Bubba is looking for you”  and I saw him the next run. Which was weird because we hadn’t seen eachother for about 3 or 4 years before that.  I’ve been hanging out with him pretty much everyday since then.

How would you describe yourself?
Quiet, not very good with words, pretty good with kids. A work in progress.

Where did you go to college? What did you major in?
Graduated from the U of U in graphic design.

Where were you born and raised? Where do you live now?
Born and raised in and around Salt Lake area, still live here in the sugar house area.

What is your favorite place you have visited - or place you would like to
visit?
I’m such a home body, I just like to be at home, but my favorite vacation was when Bubba and I took a trip to southern Utah on the motorcycle. I was so afraid for my life, and even wrote out a will before I left (ha ha) but it was so fun! Bubba has some friends that work at Harley-Davidson of SLC so we went with a group of them, we were part of a biker gang! It was hilarious, we felt a little out of place  but I loved riding on the motorcycle and seeing Zions and all the scenery on the way down out in the open like that, it was amazing.

What is your favorite food?
Greek potatoes from Sugar House Barbeque – you have to try them!

What is your favorite book, movie or both.
I like “My turn on Earth” a book from when I was a kid, makes me cry every time. Also I just read, “Love is a Verb” By Mary Ellen Edmunds. It’s great! Funny and inspirational. And movie, right now I like the Lorax.

What music do you like to listen to?
I like instrumental mostly. I like The Piano Guys a lot.

What is your occupation? What would your dream job be? Or what do you want to be when you grow up?
I am a mom and a graphic designer at night. I’d love to be and illustrator or a nurse (totally unrelated I know).

What are some things that you enjoy doing?
Drawing, reading/studying, holding sleeping babies (the best thing in the world), art projects with my kids, teaching them important things, riding on the motorcycle to BYU games and snowboarding.

Do you have any special talents or things you’re learning to do?
I guess I'm talented at making posters for church and school activities - I do enough of them! I am trying to learn the piano, slowly, very slowly.

What is a goal you have?
To be more confident.

What is your pet peeve?
Listening to chewing, especially on ice. And when someone in my house has a relentless cough.

Have you been on any adventures?
Marriage and parenthood. Whoa.

Something you’re afraid of?
Tornados, the ocean, getting trapped on an elevator.

What was your most funny or embarrassing moment?
I’ve forgotten my kids names twice when people have asked me. My mind literally goes blank sometimes when I’m talking to people.

Also one time on a boating trip with some friends I packed cortisone cream instead of toothpaste and started brushing my teeth with it, when I realized what was in my mouth I  was too embarrassed to attract attention to myself so I just held it in my mouth until I had a chance to spit it out unnoticed!

Most gross moment recently: squishing a spider between my fingers that was running up my neck while I was asleep. EEEEEEEWWW!!!!

What is your best quality?
I’m pretty good with kids and I'm compassionate.

Share an interesting fact that we don’t know about you.
I can fold my tongue in half backwards too like aunt Chris!

Also I tend to unintentionally give really weird nicknames to my kids that seem to evolve over time. Right now stella is Shnoozit or Snelzy, Boston is Soft-it (there is a story behind that one), Fisher is Duddy-wee-boy or Fur-thur.

Share something you would like to do or see some day, or a dream that you
have already fulfilled.
Someday I’d like to learn how to oil paint and play the piano effortlessly. Also I hope I have the guts to foster a child at some point in my life.

Favorite thing you like to do with your family?
Go to the school track and run around and play football or catch or ride bikes. Go swimming and skiing.
